my final words

Featured Verses - Thank You For Being Here

£2.00

Having stood as you are in the past, I know how some of you feel

I shed those tears as you might well do today and thought, this is all a little surreal

But alas you are at my funeral, a gathering of the clan

Of family, friends and acquaintances, for something many of us do not plan

Thank you for being here, for me to say my goodbye

To mourn a little or a lot and have a little cry

It’s very much appreciated and to my (husband/wife) I must say

Darling (name of husband/wife) you must go on enjoying every future day.

Yes, to start it may be difficult but know this is my hope

You’ll fill the void I left behind and in every way you’ll cope.

Do the things you want to do, travel at your pleasure

Entertain as best you can, fill your days with leisure.

You’ll have people there around you; if not then seek them out

For there’s much that life can offer, of that I have no doubt.

My days are over, my book has closed, I’m making room for another

I trust you’ll enjoy my later wake when it’ll give you a chance to recover.

Thereon your mourning needs to cease, your lives must carry on

But by all means think of me from time to time despite the fact I’ve gone.

What Drives Us

Our Mission

Our funerals should be seen as important as many other events in our lives and the lives of our family and friends. The circumstances of our departing are varied; they can be tragic, heart breaking , desperately emotional or, on some occasions, a comfort in disguise. But they are for all of us, the last event we will certainly attend so to speak. We or others can chose to make them a formality or make them something special, something more personal to our own wishes or those we leave behind. The verses on this site and those which are added in due course offer us an opportunity to personalise our funerals in a way not done before; they enable us to express our opinions, our thoughts, our feelings  and hopefully in a way which will bring a smile on the faces of those there at what should hopefully  be for many of us, a celebration, commemorating, honouring our lives and the contribution we made to the lives of others.

Some of the verses will hopefully be appropriate for most of us; sadly, some will not given the more personal nature of them.
