Gone are my living days

Gone are my living days, I’m off to pastures new
To the other side, to another place, to nowhere land
Free of sin, free of hate, free of sorrow, free of pain
I enter the place where souls do lain
My journey there has been eventful
My life, like most, has had its ups and downs
I've loved, I've enjoyed, I've been happy and occasionally cried
And along the way many of you have been by my side
Let me thank you for being in my life
That is those of you here with me today
Try not to be too downhearted despite our being parted
Whatever is and whatever was, perhaps it’s all been charted
Time will heal any sadness, well, I hope that is the case
For whilst I understand your grieving, please move on
It is now your life which is important, I’m gone and that is a fact
Please do not be offended by my lack of empathy or indeed any consideration I may have
lacked
You will have your memories which may be recalled from time to time
As our lives interacted, family and friends, those days, hours and moments sharing
Full of joy, full of smiles, full of peace, contentment and caring
I now enter the place where souls do lain, no longer on earth can I remain.
My body in whatever form lying down under, looking up at the world in vain.
