I have left you sooner than I would have expected
I’m sorry but it’s true
Shock, turmoil, sadness or despondency
I know are felt by you

But please my friends and family
It is pointless now to dwell
For things are as they are
And we’ve plenty of good things to tell

Of the days we spent together
Of the times our lives were shared
When we talked, had fun, enjoyed ourselves
When for one and all, we really cared

The thoughtful gestures, the helping hand
The love and respect we had for each other
I will miss you, as you will miss me
