Here Today Gone Tomorrow
Here today, gone tomorrow
How often that I’ve remarked
And blow me down here I am
Upon a life of death, I’ve embarked
Where this journey will take me
If it takes me anywhere at all
But sadly, my friends and family
This occasion upon you does befall
Please try not to be too forlorn or teary
As I presume this you will be
As much as I appreciate your sadness
Surely on this we agree
We’ve had our lives together and done our best to impart
Our joy and our fondness for each other and the love we felt in our heart
Yes, we’ll miss those days together but time will heal you’ll see
As difficult as it will be for you, I’d rather be you than me.
So, cherish all those memories and your images of the past
And that will help my parting and the extent your pain will last.
Get on with living, be good, be kind, value your days ahead
For tomorrow’s around the corner and like me, one day you’ll be………….
