Let me help you with your grieving, let me help you share your pain
By your knowing that whilst I understand, its effect on you is plain
I do not want you to suffer but to rejoice in the life I had
Such that in the days ahead your thoughts and deeds are more positive than they are sad
Yes, think of me from time to time; that would be nice to know
And share your lives with others close which should help the sadness go
Our lives are far too short to mourn, maybe easier said than done
But I’d like to think we all recognise that a new chapter has now begun.
