It had to happen sometime

It had to happen sometime and for me it’s happened now

I’ve taken my final curtain; I’ve taken my final bow.

It’s been an interesting journey which some of you have shared

As did those in my life since departed; for all of you I cared.

It’s good of you to be here, in front of you I lay

As sad as you and I must be, there's a few words I need to say.

We’ve been each other’s life time friends; we've been together in good times and bad

We’ve enjoyed each other’s company, for these things we must be glad.

We’ve entertained each other, laughed and cried in joy

We’ve accumulated so many memories to recall and not destroy.

My life has been a good one with much to shout about

I’ve no complaints, and it’s too late if I have, of that there is no doubt.

Enjoy your onward journey, enjoy your days ahead7
