Time will heal the sadness

My departure will be painful, at least to those close to me
But time will heal the sadness you feel, the mournful thoughts, you’ll see

And I want you all to acclimatise, as much as I may be missed
Particularly my husband so dear, to you I must insist

We’ve had a fantastic life together, a new one you must make
Enjoy your onward journey dear and every moment of happiness take

There will be people around you to help you on your way
As companions, as confidents, to share your time of day

My thanks to friends and family for being there in the past
For the contribution you have made to our lives and the memories which will last

For me this is the end of things but in parting I say to you
The days may come, the days may go, enjoy, for they are few
